More information about New Zealand Fly FishingBass Proshop started on a simple premise. They saw a need in the fishing market, and decided that if no one else was going to satisfy this need, well, heck, they sure would do it. More than 30 years later, the business is an empire. Its stores are across the country. Its products are used in streams, lakes, and oceans across the world. And it’s logo is practically as household as the golden arches or the red can of cola. But back in 1971, no such business existed. The world’s best fishermen were left to scrape together gear. In many cases, they were forced to compete with a motley mix of subpar gear. Their choices for rods, reels, and tackle were just not consistent, nor were they specialized enough to match their top-notch skills. Then came Bass. Started in Springfield, Missouri in a store that could hardly be called that—it had just eight feet of space to it—Bass Proshop began. Their first set of wares included equipment that would find on the tournament circuit that year. There are many different Shimano fishing reel parts to accommodate various styles of reels and thus serve the many forms of fishing undertaken by professional and amateur anglers al across the country. One popular model of Shimano fishing reel is the TLD 20 lever drag reel which features four stainless steel ball bearings, a stainless steel main shaft, gears and reel foot. It has a one piece graphite and titanium body and an oil ported rod handle. The Downrigger level wind reel is designed especially for the demands of down rigging and features a strike alarm to let you know you have a fish on your hook. The frame is made with graphite and titanium and has a stainless steel reel foot, steel pinion and main gears, an aluminum spool and a ball bearing power knob and titanium drag. It also has a 300 yard capacity and a 20 pound testing ability. Read more in our Article Database!
